Last week, afternoon, I was waiting at the bus stop outside Churchgate station. Royally mind-fucked. Like ROYALLY! Was getting late for a meeting for which I had no ideas whatsoever (No, it’s not a good thing). Had spent 20 minutes for a two-minute job at the Vodafone gallery. Why? Long story. And yes, the sun wasn’t making things any easier. Hence, mind-fucked.

Out of nowhere, a Toyota Corolla comes, stops right in front of us, the driver peeps out and says, ‘VT?? VT??’ We nod, confused. And…the dude says ‘CHAR LOG AA JAO!!!!!’

And I JUMPED over the bus stop and RAN!! Only thing I did not do was to throw a handkerchief and reserve my seat. :p

And then, as soon as we get into the car, the driver says, ‘PAANCH PAANCH RUPYAA DE DO!’ We comply rather willingly. The driver was like ‘Waah! Mera Kharcha paani ho gaya’ We smiled.

And so, we got an AC Toyota ride from Churchgate to VT for FIVE BUCKS WONLY!

While getting down, a co-passenger actually told him, ‘Bhaiya, aap roj mila karo’ The driver made a serious face and went like ‘Nahi nahi. Yeh roj nahi hota’
