Unless you have been living under a rock or are a fu-fu townie from Pedder Road (for whom Worli is probably the end of Mumbai), you will know what hit our Western line local trains, early Wednesday morning. Reached borivali station at 10.30 AM, completely unaware of what was going on and was completely zapped. From what I heard at that moment, the reason for the protest was insanely trivial. But yes, it was worth a sight. A journey that normally takes an hour took me four and a half hours!! Trust me, it wasn’t remotely funny.
There were more people on the tracks rather than the platform. And the ones who were protesting were urging travelers to join them on the tracks. Reason?
Sab kuch aap ke liye hi kar rahe hain.
The Churchgate bound Virar train reached Borivali station at 8.30 AM in the morning. Time when the picture taken: 11.30 AM.
When you wait for long hours, you got to go to the loo. Yup, that’s men queuing up to empty their bladder.
The police van was parked right outside the station, but no action taken. Apparently, they didn’t have ‘orders’.
The hawaldar was actually suggesting people to take a bus and not wait for the train. Need I say more?
Sheer helplessness...

it's my blog....and i decide how things are spelled here...
Very well presented. What exactly was the reason for the strike?
apparently...during the peak rush hour...there's a 9.10 am fast local from borivali and the next one is directly at 9.24 whereas there are many locals from Virar...so there was resentment among borivali chaps...on the D Day...the 9.10 local got canned...which means double rush on 9.24...again...the 9.24 local's platform was changed three times...which means ppl had to rush around...and HENCE...they completely LOST IT!!!!!!!
