Two days ago, the Navy Band performed at Chowpatty. And the crowd turnout was as expected – a handful of interested people and LOTS of vela souls. But guess who took the front seat. The street kids! All of them came running and soon there was a hoard of jumpy first benchers. One kid stood in the corner and showed his best hip-hop ‘moves’. The other couldn’t stop clapping the moment a dude from the band started singing a song from Fanaa (Yes, Fanaa!!)
Such band performances are rare, but I think they should turn regular. Just for these kids!
